Dental Assistant

***Responsibilities***

-Prepare treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials, following prescribed procedures and protocols
-Perform procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
-Welcome, comfort, seat, and drape patient.
-Provide information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
-Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist’s access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
-Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient’s mouth.
-Take X-rays, pour, trim, and polish study casts.
-Fabricate temporary restorations and clean and polish removable appliances.
-Maintain CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
-Give oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
Chart in patient records.
-Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
-Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
-Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols.
-Complete preventive maintenance requirements, follow manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshoot malfunctions, call for repairs, maintain equipment inventories, and evaluate new equipment and techniques.
-Check stock to determine inventory level, anticipate needed supplies, place and expedite orders for supplies, and verify receipt of supplies.

***Skills and Experience***

***At least 2 YEARS OF UNINTERRUPTED experience as a Dental Assistant preferred***

-Open Dental software familiarity preferred

***Hours and Benefits***

This is a full-time position with the following hours that are subject to change:

Monday 9:00am-6:00pm
Tuesday 9:00am-6:00pm
Wednesday 8:30am-5:30pm
Thursday 9:00am-6:00pm

-8 hour shift
-Day shift
-No nights
-No weekends
-Job Type: full-time, non-exempt

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour, DOE

-High school or equivalent (Required)

-Uninterrupted Dental office: 2 years (Required)
-Uninterrupted Dental Assisting: 2 years (Required)

-Reliably commute or planning to relocate to the West LA area before starting work (Required)
